Counseling at ICSA — supporting every learner
Our college counseling program begins in Grade 10, guiding students through every stage of their university journey. Using platforms such as Unifrog, CommonApp, and UCAS, students research options, build shortlists, and explore pathways that match their goals. We help them develop brag sheets, CVs, and personal essays that highlight their achievements and character. Counselors provide hands-on support with application materials, document submission, and any questions about the process. Regular check-ins ensure students stay on track, meet deadlines, and feel confident throughout. By their senior year, each student is fully prepared to apply to universities that best fit their academic interests and future aspirations.

Program areas
Lower School Counseling
From Pre-K through Grade 5, we are committed to helping students develop the social, emotional, and learning skills they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom. Guided by the CASEL and PYP frameworks, and supported by resources such as SecondStep, Zones of Regulation, and Kelso’s Choices, we provide a consistent, developmentally-appropriate approach to social and emotional learning. Each homeroom class has a dedicated weekly SEL time, led by the homeroom teacher, with the school counselor occasionally joining to teach lessons on Child Protection and Safeguarding.
Upper School Counseling
The ICSA Counseling Program is dedicated to fostering the academic, social-emotional, and career development of all students in a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive environment. Through personalized guidance, advocacy, and collaboration, we empower students to develop the skills, confidence, and mindset necessary to succeed as compassionate and responsible global citizens.
College Counseling
Our high school college counseling program is designed to provide comprehensive support to our students throughout their journey to higher education. We utilize the BridgeU platform, an innovative tool that assists students in the search and application process. Starting from grade 10 through grade 12, our dedicated college counselor conducts regular whole class and one-on-one meetings with each student, ensuring personalized guidance and advice tailored to their individual aspirations and goals. These meetings cover a range of topics, including academic planning, extracurricular involvement, and college selection. Additionally, we organize a variety of virtual and in-person college visits, allowing students to explore campuses and gain firsthand insight into their potential future institutions. Our program aims to empower students with the necessary resources and support to make informed decisions and successfully navigate the college admissions process.
