Community & Belonging Statement

The International Community School of Abidjan (ICSA) strives to be an environment where community and belonging are nurtured, and every member is valued. We believe that living our core values of curiosity, compassion, and courage is essential to cultivating both character and intellect in our students and faculty.

Through active learning, we encourage exploration and understanding of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, political and social values, culture, religion, and physical ability and neurodiversity. We challenge ourselves to recognize and confront our own assumptions so we can engage with one another with empathy and openness. We are a school that teaches our students to honor individual differences and find strength in the richness of our community.

Through our policies, programs, and practices, we are committed to fostering a culture of mutual respect, social awareness, and moral responsibility. We believe that embracing curiosity, leading with compassion, and acting with courage are fundamental to an excellent education. These values are essential to ICSA’s mission and to building a thriving community where everyone feels they belong.
